Range Officer (RO) Course at Foymore RPC
The Range Officer (RO) Course at Foymore RPC is designed to improve range safety and provide practical training for individuals looking to become certified ROs. This qualification ensures that candidates can confidently manage a shooting range, prioritising safety and efficiency.
What is the RO Course?
The primary aim of the RO course is to enhance range safety by providing relevant, hands-on training. Successful candidates will be qualified as Foymore Range Officers (ROs), ensuring they have the necessary skills to oversee safe shooting practices.
Course Structure & Assessment
The course includes written, oral, and practical on-range assessments to ensure a thorough understanding of range operations. Key topics such as legal regulations, range rules, and guest day management are covered to provide a well-rounded training experience.
Qualification & Validity
Upon completion, the RO qualification is valid for five years from the date of issue. While this qualification is specific to Foymore RPC, it provides valuable proof of training applicable to the safe operation of shooting ranges, though it does not certify RSO status for Ministry of Defence (MoD) ranges.
Training by Certified Instructors
Our RO courses are conducted by qualified NRA Club instructors using official NRA training materials. Sessions are held at the new clubhouse located on the Foymore Ranges, providing a professional environment for comprehensive training.
