Members BBQ & Shoot
The second Club BBQ and shoot of this year was held on Saturday 1 October.  The members now know to expect the unexpected and with targets changed again this lead to some interesting shooting between the competitors. The top gun on the day was John Shanks (right), followed by Nigel Eakin (left) in 2nd place.  All club members are still welcome throughout the winter months for practise as usual.

Members BBQ & Shoot
The first Club BBQ and shoot of this year was held on Saturday 20 August.  The layouts were changed for this shoot and with challenging conditions on the day, some of the targets proved 'quite interesting.'  The top gun on the day was Chris McConville, followed very closely by Terry McCleave.  The next club shoot and BBQ will be held on Satuday 1st October at 10am.  Again we will have a few surprises in store for the competitors!!

September 2010
First of the 2010 Foymore Lodge Club Shoots
Saturday 4 September proved to be a very competitive day for shooters from the Foymore Lodge membership scheme.  After a coffee to kick start the adrenaline, the members shot their way through the 50 bird sporting shoot. Newcomer to the club, Nigel Eakin, pipped Paddy McConville to the post with a score of 39/50.  There was plenty of humour and a few **** words along the way and following the analysis all enjoyed a bbq at the clubhouse.  Congratulations to Nigel!  No pressure for shoot number 2 Nigel!

Extreme Mud Madness
Sunday 28th March 2010 saw the return of the Mud Madness run.  Over 600 runners took part in the race and the weather could not have been better.  A glorious spring day set the scene for enthusiasts and fun-runners alike and with competitors from as far afield as Germany, America and France, there truly was an international flavour to this event.  The challenging course did not disappoint and all competitors were well muddied up by the end of the first lap.  By the second lap the obstacles were proving tougher with a little more mud to negotiate but all participants crossed the finishing line in respectable style.  For more details and pictures about the event, visit the website at www.mud-madness.com

Gary Lineker and Danielle Bux Visit Foymore Lodge with BBC Northern Irelands 'Northern Exposure'
Foymore Lodge played host to former England striker Gary Lineker and his model fiancee Danielle Bux during their 2009 'Northern Exposure' tour.  Both Gary and Danielle showed their competitive spirit by taking part in clay pigeon shooting, air rifle shooting and archery, but it was Gary who proved to have the edge on the day, taking victory across each of the three challenges.  Photograph of Gary, Danielle and BBC filming crew.

Extra Muddy, Extra Mad - Mud Madness November 2008
Sunday 16 November 2008 saw the return of Mud Madness to Foymore Lodge, and what an event!  Who could think of a better way to spend a beautiful, sunny November afternoon, than to get wet and muddy from top to toe whilst running a 4km dash through ponds, bog land, drains and ditches.  Some 300 entrants took up the challenge risking life, limb and beauty for this adventurous day out in the countryside - congratulations to them all!  The official charity for the day was Marie Curie who were on hand offering much welcomed refreshments following the event. For more details and pictures about the event, visit the website at www.mud-madness.com

The Long Awaited Straightening of the 'Rabbit Run'
This month, history was made at Foymore Lodge Country Pursuits, with the long awaited straightening of the 'Rabbit Run,' otherwise known as the 'Mini Sporting' layout.  This fast and furious layout, consisting of 24 targets, shot over 4 stands proved elusive for many but not so for local clay pigeon shooter Richard Knipe.  In an outstanding display of shooting excellence he determinedly straightened all 24 targets.  The team at Foymore Lodge congratulate Richard in this fantastic achievement!
